Ink cartridge

An ink cartridge has an ink supply opening, the offset on one to one side of a wall arranged in place is provided, which forms an ink container body; a positioning protrusion portion which is disposed on a wall between the two opposite walls in the vicinity of the wall and whose upper surface and the side section are set with respect to the position when the cartridge was mounted on a recording device; a lever which is provided on the other wall of the two walls and a normally hingedly opened state maintains and is provided with a projection, which is set forcibly to the outside, when the cartridge is mounted on the recording means; and electrodes which are connected to a memory unit, which information relating to the ink in an ink container stores and is arranged on the positioning protrusion portion.
