A method for treating a foamable plastic, wherein the plastic is converted from a higher density starting state by means of a blowing agent in a foaming process in a foamed state of lower density, wherein the plastic before the foaming process by at least a first crosslinking agent and during the foaming by at least one second crosslinking agent is crosslinked.
