Patient support apparatus and method for performing decubitus breast biopsy

An apparatus for supporting a patient, comprising: a dimensioned to support an adult on the same platform having first and second ends longitudinally spaced first and second sides and a spine extending longitudinally, in which said platform defines two access points between said spine and each of the sides mentioned, in which the access points on the first side of the platform are situated opposite the access points on the second side of the platform and separated by said spine; and a support platform for lifting said platform relative to a support surface.
