Method for non-invasive measurement of an analyte

Abstract

A method for measuring an analyte in a tissue of a subject comprising: (a) contacting the tissue with electromagnetic radiation having a first wavelength excitation, both in the presence and absence of electromagnetic radiation having a second length excitation wavelength, wherein the first wavelength excitation is substantially equal to a wavelength of absorption of a temperature probe within the tissue able to make dispersion of resonance Raman occurs and the second wavelength of excitation is substantially equal to a wavelength of absorption of the analyte able of making dispersion of resonance Raman occurs, and where the temperature probe and the analyte are sufficiently close together so that the energy deposited into one by absorption of radiation is transferred to the other; (B) collecting Raman spectra emitted by the tissue; and (c) analyzing the collected spectra by comparing the espectrosRaman emitted by the temperature probe in response to the first wavelength excitation in the presence and absence of the second wavelength excitation to determine the concentration of analyte present in the tissue .
