Basket-style article carrier having reinforced handle joints and carrier blank therefor

Container type basket (10) for holding a plurality of articles comprising first and second opposed side walls (14, 18) and end (12, 16), said first and second side walls are substantially parallel to each other and such first and second end walls are substantially parallel to each other, a handle structure composite (20) located between said first and second side walls and extending between said first and second end walls, said handle structure comprises a first (36) and second (40) handle panels secured together in juxtaposed relationship; a first fastener (82) hinged to said first handle panel and secured to an inner surface of said first end wall (12) to create a joint between said handle structure and said first end wall, characterized in that: a first reinforcing member joint (94) is hinged to said second handle panel and secured to the inner surface of said first end wall, and by the fact that lateral said first and second walls and end , said handle structure, said first fastener and said first joint-reinforcing are all formed from a single die.
