Frequency synthesiser

The frequency synthesizer which generates the broadband signal from the zero Hz to the frequency of a millimeter wave belt offers the capability to perform arbitrary fine increment in output frequency. This synthesizer has an optical comb generator which supplies a set of reference signals at the predetermined intervals. It is the frequency selection and the conversion device to which these reference signals are sent to two or more laser devices, at least one of laser devices can choose a specific output line as from a comb generator, and only the frequency of a certain request can shift the line. Next, the output from a laser device is compounded and is detected using an optical power detector. This output is a system output. The various methods of producing frequency selection and a conversion device are indicated, and the various methods of generating an optical comb reference signal are indicated similarly. Some possible uses of the present invention are also indicated.
