A mass transfer column (20) including: an outer shell (22) defining an open region information triple (24); at least one return contact tray (28) and at least one centrifugal contact tray of overlap (26) positioned in an alternating and vertically spaced relationship mind within the open internal region (24), said tray return contact (28) having a tray cover (31) having at least one aguje- ro to remove an upper surface of said return tray deck (31) and a plurality of vapor passages (34) to allow liquid vapor flow upwardly through said tray deck-return (31) to interact with liquid in said upper surface of said return tray deck (31), said centrifugal contact tray (26) a cover tray (30) having an upper surface, a periphery and a plurality of vapor passages (34) for allowing vapor to flow upwardly through said centrifugal tray deck (30) for in - teractuar with liquid on said upper surface of said cover centrifuge tray (30); at least one tube down central (42) extending down into said hole in said return tray deck (28), said tube down central (42) output underflow (54); at least one annular downcomer (38) extending downward in said periphery of said centrifugal tray deck contact (30) and having an output lower discharge (54) spaced above said tray cover return (31) for feeding said liquid onto said return tray deck (31); and a plurality of baffles (60) extending upward from said tray-return contact (28) in said central drop tube (42) and supported so that centrifugal contact tray overlap (26 ).
