Reinforced reclosable package seals

Flexible packaging (20) formed from a continuous sheet (25, 124) of a packaging material with a substantially constant thickness, comprising in combination, a) a body closed package comprising at least one thickness of material flexible packaging and having opposite ends, b) at least one end seal package body (21A, 21B), and c) a closure interlocking resealable and openable repeatedly (22) comprises parts of inner (22B) and outer (22A) forming one piece with said package body and a sealed together layers comprising stacked including at least one layer of said packaging material, said closure being operable ( 22) to open and close said package body to provide and prevent respectively, access to the package interior; characterized in that: the stacked and sealed together layers also include at least one discrete strip (75, 127) of flexible material with a substantially constant thickness; and at least a part of said outer portion (22A) interlocking closure comprises at least one more than said inner portion (22B) layer.
