Method of configuring electronic devices

Method of configuring first and second electronic devices (17, 27), the first device being a master and the second device a slave device device, characterized in that said second slave device can perform a plurality of different predefined functions that can be selected, associating each predefined function that can be selected to an appropriate device driver that refers to a specific class of a plurality of USB device classes, each class corresponding to a different function, said method comprising: receiving at said second slave device (27) of preference information relating to a function of a plurality of functions (33, 34, 35) of said second slave device to enable selection of a function of a plurality of predefined functions, providing said first master device (17) information relating to said specific selected function, and providing in said first means master device interface for interacting with said selected function to allow said first master device to use said specific selected function, and wherein said provision of said interface means includes assigning an appropriate device driver.
