Broadcast program recording apparatus using electronic program guide

A receiver (3) to receive television signals representing television programs in a plurality of channels, including the receiver (3) a recorder (13) for recording television programs; also including television signals schedule data of programs that define event in terms of channels, programs and broadcast times, and including the receiver (3): a decoder (16) for separating the signals representing television programs of program schedule data; means (23) to produce output signals to display on a television screen events in the program schedule according to the program schedule data; and a selector (28) manageable by the user to select displayed events, with the receiver (13) responsive to such user selection to record programs corresponding TV to the selected events, wherein the output signals are for displaying events recorded and include playback information indicating whether a recorded event has been partly reproduced from the recorder (13).
