Wave energy converter

Apparatus energy conversion point absorber (1) for harnessing energy from wave motion on the surface of a body of liquid (2) and having smaller dimensions with respect to length of predominant wave, the said apparatus: a) at least two devices (3, 4, 43, 44), a first device comprising a surface float (5, 6, 43) and a second device comprising at least one submerged body (9, 10, 44) below the surface of the body of liquid, b) linkages (12) between said at least two devices, wherein said at least two devices are adapted to move relative to each other in response to the waves passing, and relative movement between said at least two devices effects a transfer of energy that can be exploited by the junctions between said at least two devices, and wherein said at least one submerged body is adapted to entrap volumes the surrounding liquid and the apparatus is characterized by further comprising regulating means (13, 14) with which one can regulate the trapped volume of said at least one submerged body.
