Apparatus and method for controlling delivery of unsolicited electronic mail

A system for automatically controlling the delivery of unsolicited electronic mail, comprising: a communications network; a control center, comprising: a processor (102) to create one or more email addresses polling "spam"; a distributor for distributing said one or more email addresses polling "spam" in at least one location on said communication network; a processor (104) to receive emails addressed to said one or more email addresses polling "spam" and to extract data from the source of such messages received email; and a signal generator coupled to said processor (104) for generating and transmitting an alert signal incorporating said extracted data source alert; and a plurality of user terminals coupled to said communication network, each comprising an application filter for receiving said alert signal, update data filtering stored upon receipt of said warning signal, and filter mail messages mail received by said user terminal in accordance with said updated data filtration.
