Resposable pulse oximetry sensor

Abstract

(57) A summary pulse oxygen measurement sensor has both a recyclable portion (305) and a disposable (210) portion. The recyclable portion of a sensor saves a long-life life and the emitter (306) of an expensive component, a detector (307), and a connector (308) relatively. The disposable portion of a sensor is adhesive tape (320) which fixes a sensor to the measured region (generally a patient's finger and toe) of the component of budget prices relatively. Or that as for the disposable portion of a sensor a tape becomes dirty when adhesive tape has been prolonged -- or when it overheats, a disposable portion is attached to a recyclable portion by an easily exchangeable method so that attachment and detachment are possible. The disposable portion can guarantee a patient's safety including the information element (405) sensor discernment or aimed at obtaining security. When the conductive element whose reading of an information element a pulse oxygen monitor makes possible is arranged at a disposable portion, this removes from a measured region, and adhesive tape is torn, an electrical connection state is destroyed.
