Elevated bottom carton

A carton (10, 210) having a primary portion of raised bottom (20, 220) extending along the length of an exposed edge of paperboard blank (40, 240) to protect the container carton (10, 210) and to prevent moisture absorption. The carton (10, 210) may also have a minor portion of high background (100, 300), essentially within the high primary portion (20, 220), and present a higher elevation than the primary bottom portion high ( 20, 220). additional raised portions (20a, 220a) for additional crude cardboard edges (40b, 240b) on the bottom of the carton (10, 210) are provided. The present invention alleviates the problem of cartons (10, 210) having funds sensitive to moisture, since the point of absorption; the raw paperboard edge (40, 240), rises above the humidity that can occur during distribution from the packaging machine to the retailer. The portion of high background (20, 220) is effectively invested into the carton (10, 210) with flat portions (60, 260 and 62, 262) resting on the surface to hold the carton (10, 210).
