A distal protection device, comprising: a guide (210) wire having a proximal end and a distal end; a filter (152) having a collapsed low profile configuration and an expanded filtering configuration, the filter (152) disposed capable of moving over the guidewire (210), wherein the filter comprises a distal cone (232) and a retaining ring (242) disposed on the distal cone (232); and a member of berthing (216) V-shaped fixed to the guide (210) proximal wire to the distal end, the member of berthing (216) V-shaped configured to accommodate the distal cone (232) therein, including member berth (216) with V-shaped a groove (222) in which the retaining ring (242) can be placed, the member having berth (216) with V-shaped outer profile on which it can not pass a of the filter (152).
