A method of operating a computer (202) in a system to facilitate the creation of an electronic document (214) for output as a printed document in which the creation of the electronic document by the user is controlled by the operation of a client computer (200) communique network with the computer and printing the electronic document is performed by the operation of a printer (204) connected to the computer, storing said computer software system computerized prepress (208, 218 ) that includes a program creating downloadable documents (208) comprising one or more authoring tools to create the electronic document and a conversion component prepress (218) operable to produce a file in prepress (220 ) from document created by the program creation.
