Elongated orifice closure

A closure (10 '') to close so that resealable container (11 ''), the closure comprising: a body (20 '') of closure including a top cover (32 ''), a skirt (30 '') which hangs down from a periphery of the top cover, a hole (50 '') formed in the top cover and a mouth (58 '') extending upwardly from the top deck substantially coextensive with the opening (50 ''), a cover (24 '') including a member (38 '') of lid, a side wall (36 '') of cap extending downward from a periphery of cover member, a cover (40 '') mouth that extends downwardly from the cap member (38 '') in the closed position, a hinge (28 '') coupled between the body (20 '') and the cover (24 '') to allow actuation thereof relative to the body between an open position, in which the cover (40 '') of mouth is disengaged from the mouth, and the closed position, in which the cover (40 '') of mouth is applied to the mouth, characterized in that the cover (40 '') of mouth includes an interior inner surface (72a '') receiving mouth (58 '') therein, the surface ( 72a '') of manhole cover and an outer surface (62b '') of the mouth (58 '') form a sealing contact therebetween, while the cover is in a closed position thereby forming an outside seal relative the mouth, and the closure (10 '') further comprises an inner projection (75 '') extending downwardly from the cap member (38 '') in the closed position substantially within the housing (40 ' ') mouth and separated from it by contacting an outer surface (77b' ') of the inner protrusion with an inner surface (62a' ') of the mouth (58' ') while the closure (10' ') is in the closed position, whereby the sealing contact between the inner surface (72a '') of manhole cover and the outer surface (62b '') of mouth is improved.
