Off-set adjusting nut

Abstract

An adjustable connecting arrangement that connects adjustably between associated mechanical yes members (118, 120), one (120) which includes a stationary support surface (154) comprising a nut (122) offset and a bolt associate (110) has a head (112) and a pin (114) extending therefrom, wherein at least a portion of the pin (114) is threaded to engage the adjusting nut (122 ), in use, the bolt and the adjusting nut adjust at least one characteristic of the associated mechanical members (118, 120) comprising the adjusting nut: a body (126) defining an axis (128) of nut therethrough the body further defining an upper surface and a lower portion; a round flange (130) integrally formed with the body (126) in the lower portion thereof, the flange (130) formed in the body (126) so that the axis (128) of nut is collinear with being axis of the tab (130); and a hole (136) formed in the body (126), extending from the upper to the lower portion surface and through the flange (130), the hole (136) a thread (140) formed therein; the orifice (136) defines an axis (138) of opening that is parallel and is spaced from the axis (128) of nut, said adjustable connecting arrangement characterized in that said hole (136) is formed displaced in the body ( 126) nut, and wherein, in use, when the adjusting nut (122) and bolt (110) are engaged with each other and both mechanical members (118, 120) connected together rotation of the adjustment nut ( 122) moving the pin (110), and with it, the other or second member (118), in a direction transverse to the axis of the bolt (110) as a result of coupling cam between the flange (130) and the stationary support (154) in the first member (120) and wherein rotation of the bolt (110) causes further engagement between the nut (122) and bolt (110) for securing together mechanical members (118, 120) .
