Apparatus and method for the controlled lubrication and cleaning of conveyors

Lubrication system carrier (200) for application of lubricant onto a conveyor (100), conveyor used for moving items on a belt (122, 124) and having a passage, the lubrication system comprising: a lubricant source (210) a lubricant applicator (250) for applying the lubricant onto the conveyor, and a control system (205), characterized by: (i) a first sensing system (220) to detect tape movement; (Ii) a second sensing system (225, the 225) to detect the presence of objects (50) on the belt; (Iii) a microprocessor to open a nozzle (250) to spray lubricant onto the conveyor; with the peculiarity that, if the first sensing system (220) confirms movement of the belt and the second sensing system (225, the 225) confirms the presence of an object (50), the microprocessor provides a signal to open the applicator lubricant (250) so that leaves a first amount of lubricant lubricant source and is applied onto the conveyor; and if the first sensing system (220) confirms movement but the second sensing system (225, the 225) does not confirm an object, the microprocessor provides a signal to open the lubricant applicator so that a second amount out lubricant source and is applied lubricant to the conveyor, the second amount less than the first amount lubricant; and if the first sensing system (220) does not confirm movement, the microprocessor does not provide any signal to open the lubricant applicator.
