PATENT OFFICE
Int. CL:
PATENT NUMBER NO. 266301 Issue Date: November 11, 1968
DR.GERTRAUDE LINSBAUER IN KREMS (LOWER AUSTRIA) Rüttelbett
Registered on July 10, 1967 (A 6396/67). - Beginning of the patent period: 15.Feber 1968.
The invention relates to a Rüttelbett, in which the body supporting, on a in an inclined position and lockable support frame resiliently mounted surface, the means for holding the body, can be displaced by emitted from below shocks in vibration.
There is a plurality of such Rüttelbetten known on which a human body 5 by means of straps, slings or the like. is held and whose body supporting surface is vibrated via a plunger or similar drive. However, it has been found that such known Rüttelbetten not always desired for the human body therapeutic effects can be achieved. The reason for this is to be seen in the fact that, as a result of the body held in place by the straps and slings, the vertebrae are prevented from returning to the correct position by the vibration, or that the vibration is not sufficient for the achievement of therapeutic Effects necessary characteristics, so not the right waveform has.
These disadvantages are to be avoided by the device according to the invention. This is inventively achieved in that a plurality of distributed, provided with rotary drive rubber-tired wheels are mounted with low eccentricity, which accrue at each revolution on the body supporting the surface from below and thereby raise it slightly and thereby put into vibration.
Preferably, the wheels are rotatably mounted on one or more crankshafts loosely. By this arrangement, the particular advantage is achieved that not each same location on the circumference of
Wheels running from the bottom of the surface, whereby a uniform wear of the wheels along their circumference occurs. This significantly prolongs the period of time during which the elements most exposed to wear, namely the wheels, must be replaced.
Another way to comply with the above-mentioned feature is to provide the wheels with an eccentric hub and to wedge them to one or more drive shafts.
It is possible to form the tires both as Vollgummi- as well as pneumatic tires.
If they are wedged onto the drive shaft, they can be provided with a deposit at the point where they hit the surface from below, or the tire wall can be reinforced, as a result of which the characteristic of the vibration can also be influenced.
In order to increase the therapeutic effect, it may also be useful to divide the support surface into several separate sections act on the individual or pairs of wheels, which may either be connected in synchronism or may be driven in different ways. The characteristic of the vibration can also be influenced by the size and design of the individual sections.
The object of the invention is described below with reference to one shown in the drawings
Excerpt example explained in more detail. FIG. 1 shows a vibrating bed in side view and FIG
Rüttelbett in plan view, with the vibrating wheels underneath are indicated.
As can be seen from Fig.l, such a Rüttelbett a floor frame -1-, on which a support frame -2- is mounted centrally. This support frame -2- is by means of known
Devices, such as a spindle -3-, in any oblique positions, one of which through the

Reference numeral -11- is indicated, adjustable and lockable in these inclinations. In on the support frame -2- arranged sleeves -4- compression springs -5- are arranged. The body supporting surface -10-, which is provided on its upper side with a soft support, carries on its underside bolts -12- which slide in the sleeves -4 - of the support frame -2- and from the compression springs -5- are worn.
On the support frame -2- are further mounted on shafts -7- wheels -6-, which are about, not shown drives -8- of a motor -9- set in rotation. The shafts -7- may preferably be provided with paired offsets with an eccentricity of 1.5 cm, on which the wheels -6- rest loosely. According to a modified embodiment, the wheels -6- may be provided with an eccentric hub and keyed onto the shafts -7-.
The operation of the Rüttelbettes is as follows: Once the patient has settled on the bed, he is either held on his feet or near the shoulder by straps, not shown. Then the body supporting surface is brought by means of the adjusting device -3- in an inclined position, such that the belted body part assumes a higher position than the unbelted body part. Then the motor -9- is put into operation, which sets the wheels -6- in rotation. Due to their special arrangement or training they run on each revolution once on the body-supporting surface -10- from below and lift them slightly, causing them to vibrate, due to their special characteristics, characterized by a steady course is, causes special therapeutic effects. These can be seen in the fact that the members of the spine by the bumpless shaking movements of the body, in particular because it is held only in the longitudinal direction of the bed in its position, but otherwise free to move, are brought back into place. This results in a relief of the pain of the patient.
It should be noted that variations of the illustrated embodiment of the subject invention are possible insofar as the body supporting surface, as indicated in Figure 2 of the drawings, may be divided into individual sections -10a, 10b, 10c, wherein the Vibrations that are caused in the individual sections may be the same or different. The characteristic of the vibrations can also be changed in particular by the fact that, when wheels are keyed to the shafts, they are stiffened by an insert or by a reinforcement of the tire wall at the point where they accumulate from below on the surface supporting the body.
The particular advantage of the arrangement in which centric wheels are placed loosely on Auskröpfungen the waves, is the fact that the wheels wear evenly, whereby the functionality of the arrangement is increased compared to the other arrangements described. Of course, the characteristics of the vibrations, as far as pneumatic tires are used, can also be influenced by the pressure prevailing in the tires.
