A pin (1) for connecting a vertebra to a longitudinal member, comprising: a mounting portion (42), said means mounting portion for engagement in a vertebra; and a portion of the connector having machined threads; characterized by a pivot post (43), said mounting portion and said pivot post relative to each other being coupled to be rotatable about a common axis; and wherein said connector portion (44) is attached pivotally to said pivot post (43).
