Cell adhesion inhibitors

The present invention relates to novel compounds of formula (I) which inhibit cell adhesion, wherein the most preferred are: X is carboxy or -CO2R4; Y is carbonyl (a -CO2) or sulfonyl (-SO2-); R1 is an optionally substituted, open-chain or cyclic hydrocarbon group, in particular an aralkyl group or an alkyl group substituted by a para-position (N-aryl ureido) group, with the proviso that R1 is substituted with one alkyl, halo or hydroxy substituent on the aryl moiety only with a single alkyl group, ; R2 is hydrogen, alkyl or arylcarbonylalkyl; R3 is optionally substituted by a substituted hydrocarbon group or an asparagine or proline residue; R4 is hydrogen or optionally substituted aryl, alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkenyl, alkynyl; and n = 1 and their derivatives, containing pharmaceutical compositions and their use. ŕ
