Abstract

(57) Summary Asynchronous Transfer Mode Local Area Network (ATM LAN). ATMLAN is performed as a set of MAC components which share a common group address space, in order to set up multi-channel connection. Each station (10*0) has one or more ATMMAC components (20*0, 20*1) about the physical connection to an ATM network. Network ATM LAN service provides a station with ATMLAN configuration information required for ATM LAN operation. The number of ATM LAN which the network constituted to that station is contained in this information.
