Endoprosthesis for an artificial hip joint

An endoprosthesis for an artificial hip joint has a shaft 1, at one end of which a pin 2 is located. A ball head 4 has a recess 6, in which the pin 2 releasably engages and the ball head 4 holds. The pin 2 and the recess 6 are cylindrical, so that the ball head 4 is adjustable in the axial direction. There are provided means for supporting the ball head 4 in different axial positions with respect to the pin 2. The ball head 4 is thus with respect to the axial position and thus its distance with respect to the pin 2 and the shaft 1 adjustable. Thus, it is unnecessary to keep different ball heads available for adaptation to different anatomical conditions.
