Colored glass composition for the manufacture of glazing

Compositions for the production of colored glass for the window pane with a reduced transmittance, suitable for automobiles, comprising by weight 64-75% silica SiOi2, 5-15% CaO, 10 to 18% sodium oxide Na. sub.2.nO, and it may further contain up to 5% alumina Al.sub.2.nOsub.3.n., up to 5% of boron oxide B.sub.2.nOsub.3.n., up to 5% carbon MgO, 5% potassium oxide Ki2O O. As colorants comprises from 0.45 to 2.5% total iron expressed as ferric oxide Fe.sub.2.nOsub.3.n., 0.0001 to 0.02% of CoO, and may contain up to 0.0025 Selene% and 0.1% chromium oxide Cr.sub.2.nOsub.3.n..ŕ
