Two powder synthesis of hydrotalcite and hydrotalcite-like compounds
Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for producing a layered double hydroxide powder. According to the present invention, (a) at least one trivalent metal oxide powder is reacted with at least one bivalent metal compound, which may be hydroxide, oxide, carbonate or a mixture thereof, in an aqueous suspension to form a double hydroxyalkyl intermediate; and (b) contacting the double hydroxide intermediate with a single ion source to provide a layered double hydroxide; and (c) separating the layered double hydroxide from ascites. ŕ
