A door leaf of a garage door with closing drive, has at its closing edge (12) a light barrier device (25), which spans the space in front of the closing edge (12). In order to provide a simple and safe light barrier device, a pivotal arm (26) carrying a functional element (25) is attached to both sides of the closing edge (12), so that the functional elements attached to the ends of the arms are exactly under the closing direction in a first end position the elastic strip and lie in a second end position next to the same. The axes (27) of the arms (26) are articulated near the outside of the door leaf (10), wherein the functional elements (25) in the first end position are located centrally below.
