Electric alarm clock, such as clock radio, where, in order to achieve a safe and yet gentle wake, the volume of a predetermined initial value increases to a predetermined final value. It is particularly advantageous, although the time in which the volume increases from the initial value to the final value is adjustable. This determines whether more or less gently aroused. The clock radio can be designed with and without cassette, hi-fi systems with tuner, cassette and CD player.
