Systems, methods, and apparatuses for ciphering error detection and recovery

Systems, procedures and devices are provided for the detection and recovery of encryption errors. A procedure may include using a first set of one or more encryption input parameters to decrypt encrypted data, encrypted using a second set of one or more encryption input parameters. The procedure may further include comparing a value of at least a portion of the decrypted data with an expected value. The procedure may additionally include the determination of an occurrence of an encryption error when the value of at least a portion of the decrypted data is not equal to the expected value. The procedure may also include initiating an encryption resynchronization procedure in response to the determination that an encryption error has occurred, in order to resynchronize at least one of the encryption input parameters of the first set with at least one of the parameters of encryption input of the second set. The corresponding systems and devices are also provided.
