Ethernet frame broadcast emulation

A method of facilitating the diffusion of frames between a set of Edge Nodes of a transport network, where the nodes of the transport network transmit frames using labels added to the frames in the input Edge Nodes. The method comprises, at each of said Edge nodes and at intermediate nodes on the paths between said Edge Nodes, installing an input or inputs in a transmission table that maps raster labels to output transmission ports such that said inputs together they form a single transmission construct such that frames tagged by any of the Edge Nodes in that set are transmitted to all other Edge Nodes in the same set. When receiving a frame on one of said Edge Nodes or intermediate nodes, the provided transmission table is used to map the frame label of the frame to one or more transmission ports. The frames are then sent through the identified transmission port (s).
