RFID data collection and use

A method for collecting information related to RFID tags associated with items of interest, comprising the steps consisting of: (a) selecting a category of items, using a user interface associated with an RFID reader; (b) use the RFID reader to interrogate at least one RFID tag associated with an item of interest; and (c) associate information related to said at least one element with the selected category. In one embodiment, the allowable error tolerance associated with the location of an item with an RFID tag can be modified, either manually or automatically.
