Additive for dewaterable slurry
Abstract
A cementitious grout additive comprising fly ash with a predominant particle size of up to 10 microns and / or aluminous material with a predominant particle size of up to 150 microns. The additive acts as a water reducing agent and can totally or partially replace conventional plasticizers. The grout includes one or both of the components listed above and a mineral additive that is added in a sufficient quantity to give a water reducing effect. The method of reducing water requirements includes adding an effective amount of one or both of the two components (ash or alumina) indicated above.
