Corn event MIR 162

Transgenic corn event named MIR162, nucleic acids that are unique to the MIR162 event and methods to detect the presence of the MIR162 event based on the DNA sequences of the recombinant constructs inserted into the maize genome that resulted in the MIR162 event and genomic sequences flanking the insertion site. It further relates to maize plants comprising the transgenic genotype of MIR162 and methods for producing a maize plant comprising the genotype MIR162 itself or another variety of maize. The seeds of maize plants comprising the genotype of MIR162 are also objects of the present. It also refers to methods for controlling insects with the use of MIR162 corn plants.
