Vehicle mounted electrical generator system.

A vehicle mounted AC electrical generator system is disclosed. The vehicle includes a prime mover (14) controlled by a control system (22) to a predetermined RPM. The AC electrical generator system comprises an AC electrical generator (44) positioned in the vehicle and having a mechanical power input connection for driving the AC electrical generator to produce electricity. A device (48; 82; 100) is provided for receiving mechanical power from the prime mover (14) and transferring the mechanical power to the AC electrical generator mechanical power input connection. The mechanical power device (48; 82; 100) incorporates a fixed RPM ratio to match the RPM of the prime mover to the operational RPM of said AC electrical generator.
